After years of planning, Central Technical School’s 100th Anniversary celebrations, held during the weekend of October 16–18, 2015, came and went all too quickly. Over the three days, we met graduates from the 1940s right through to graduates from 2014. It was an energized and fun-filled weekend — starting with Friday night, where hundreds toured the school, visited decade rooms, and viewed an incredible 100th-anniversary video. Our CTS Marketplace was a big hit with people buying all kinds of memorabilia, including our Special Edition 100th Anniversary Book. For those who missed out, we’ll soon have many of these items available down jackets in an online marketplace on our website.
We need your support! For a minimum of $100 donation ($250 for non-profit/charitable organizations; $500 for corporate), for which a charitable tax receipt will be provided, a plaque with your name will be mounted on this wall to serve as a lasting legacy of your contribution. All proceeds raised through this effort, as well as events to follow, will be reinvested in CTS school activities/programs.Plaque Donation
Friday night ended with a well-attended Pub Night. Saturday was another very busy day with many more people touring the school, connecting with old classmates and teachers, and making new friends. The Marketplace, still going strong, was augmented by a silent auction with some exceptional items up for bid. Best of all, proceeds from the auction and all the events throughout the Gala Weekend will be used to support CTS students and school activities.
Saturday evening was devoted to the Gala Dinner/Dance. Those present would agree that it was a lovely evening, punctuated by the beautiful custom-made birthday cake complete with an image of the CTS building. The Gala Weekend concluded on Sunday with a well-attended Brunch at the school, prepared by CTS students and staff, and the closing ceremonies.
Our celebrations were a great success! Please read some of the media coverage below, and let’s keep in touch.
